But this year it means more. I was laid off from work in December of last year. I started volunteering for a non-profit in June. I had an offer to start full time in Sept. That has fallen through. In the meantime, I took on full time parenting duties for my 8 year old daughter, Erin. Fall means she is going back to school. 3rd grade. I have had a full summer. Daddy Summer Camp was fun and exhausting. On one hand - the one that falls asleep in mid-conversation with my wife at 830pm - I am happy that she is going back to school. :) On the other - I am sad. I am going to miss her. She has been my running buddy for the summer. We crushed it all summer long. Went to bed wiped out just about every night. But fall also means time for me to renew myself.
